"At least we are not as bad as (blank)" - This is a phrase that needs to be stricken from the Canadian vocabulary. Canada is a colonial society. Sure, we have been a "Multicultural" society since 1982, but where has that gotten us? Indigenous issues, White privilege, and the racialization of society and education are issues that continue to tackling racism, colonialism, and white privilege in Canadian society. My goal is to empower those who attend my session to be able to deal with these issues head on as they not be addressed by the government and intern, citizens of this country. I want to change that. I want YOU to change that. How? I want to give you tangible ways to combat racism, privilege and colonialism in your day to day life. In this presentation, we will be see them happen. In this session you will be given tangible ways to address these issues. Society needs to change and with all of your help, it will be able to sooner rather than later.
