Have you ever received a meeting request and wondered “why was I invited to this?” Have you ever attended a meeting (for a group project, with your supervisor, with a colleague) that it didn't accomplish anything? Based on the theories of Facilitative Leadership and the work of the Board Development Program with Alberta Culture and Tourism we will walk participants through an activity to help you identify the values people have when it comes to meetings: having a process, building relationships and achieving results. We will explore how to organize meetings, provide tips on preparing an effective meeting agenda, provide strategies to handle conflict and talk about how to keep the discussion on track.
