My name is Heather, she/her, and I am on the cusp of convocation after five years in a Bachelor of Arts degree program. My interest in History, my major, follows a trajectory of themes surrounding colonialism, imperialism, white supremacy and oppression in the Americas. My minor in Modern Languages and Cultural Studies facilitated the Certificate in Translation, my second language being Spanish. I am presently a volunteer with the City of Edmonton Youth Council (CEYC). I also volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a mentor, and will be getting involved as a crisis line volunteer with the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE) early in the New Year. I am passionate about addressing inequalities through advocacy and policy, as well as meeting others where they are at to bring their unique perspectives to the table. In my free time, I enjoy doom-scrolling on Twitter, yoga, and reading theory. It'll be a pleasure to connect with passionate people over ASLS 2021.
